Hadley is an Outer Banks native, growing up in Duck and now living in Historic Corolla Village. She loves being outside, on or in the water, and and walking barefoot around the neighborhood with her trusty sidekick, Junebug. She started Coastal Explorations in 2008 and has been sharing her love of the sound with customers ever since.
Originally from Virginia, Nate is a transplant to the Outer Banks. He loves the outdoors and adventures of all kinds, especially traveling and surfing. He's a huge hispanophile, so if you hear reggaeton thumping around the shop you'll know who to blame.
Kim is all the way from Erie, Pennsylvania. She attended John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH majoring in marketing. Guiding for her second year at Coastal Ex, she still gets super stoked seeing all the wildlife in the sound. If she’s not at work you’ll most likely find her hanging out at the beach either reading a book or catching some surf! (ask her how she got into surfing – great story!)
Nick grew up in Cary, NC and graduated from Western North Carolina University with a degree in Parks and Recreation Management. He’s our very own Ron Swanson (he’s even working on his mustache)! Sharing Ron’s love of the outdoors, Nick loves to snowboard in the winter season, most recently enjoying the runs of Bogus Basin, Idaho. In the summer he swaps the snow for the ocean and spends his time shredding the gnargnar (waves) every chance he gets.
Cooper is from Chesapeake, VA and is a rising junior at James Madison University. In his free time, he loves to go hiking, longboarding, and setting up his hammock at Jennette’s Pier. During his first season at Coastal Explorations, Cooper is eager to spend time on the water and show you around the Currituck Sound!
Originally from Georgia, Eli made his way up to Corolla after his sister convinced him to come live on the beach. He spent the last year in Liberia where he was working as a Peace Corp volunteer. He’s looking forward to a career teaching youngsters how to read good, but for the moment he is eager to share his love of the outdoors with others. In addition to being a complete math whiz, he loves to cook, practice yoga, and dive off of cliffs.
