Monkey Island Paddle – New Trip!

Monkey Island is one of the most isolated and storied locations on the Outer Banks! Join us on a paddle trip as we explore the waters around the island. Once out there, you’ll have the chance to hear some local history about the island and also to view the roosting wading birds and ospreys that call the island their home in the summer. Paddle time is 3 to 4 hours, depending on weather. We’ll take a few breaks on the trip and take some time for some snacks (provided). This trip is for experienced paddlers only and reservations are required. 8 person maximum

Wild Horse Expedition

This expedition is our newest addition! We partner with the Corolla Wild Horse Fund for an unique and engaging experience with one of our area’s greatest attractions. First, we’ll take you up to the 4×4 territory by boat (on the soundside). We’ll then drop you off on the northern end of the territory. You’ll then shadow the wild horse manager as he conducts his daily research on the horses. These trips have a 4 person maximum and are very limited. The total prices is $500 which includes an hour long boat ride of the Currituck Sound, a unique experience dealing with the horses, and a membership with the Corolla Wild Horse fund.

Crabbing Charters!

Growing up on the Outer Banks, one of my favorite summer memories as a kid was spending my days catching blue crabs in the sound. Now you can show your kids how much fun catching a whopper really is! Climb aboard our skiff as we handline a few different spots and then we’ll finish up by pulling a few pots in. Remember to bring a cooler for all the keeper size crabs!

Sunset Cruises

Moonlight Tour

Looking for a twist on a traditional trip? This moonlight tour could be just what you’re looking for. Paddle around under the light of the stars and moon, trusting your guide to lead you out of the twists and turns of the marshy mazes. With the Currituck Beach Lighthouse as your beacon and nightlight, you’ll feel safe as you stargaze, watch overhead for bats, and watch underneath for bioluminescent jellies! When the full moon is out, the light will cast shadows on the water!

Perfect for Kids!

These tours are tailored for kids with an emphasis on fun, hands-on learning. We give kids dip nets, to allow them to sweep through grass beds in search of small water critters like shrimp or minnows. Our guide also uses cast nets and crab pots to pull in other catches! These tours use double sit-on-top kayaks for freedom of movement and stability.

After vacationing at the beach for many years, you’re probably curious about what’s on the other side. Take a relaxing boat tour and see the sounds and marshes that make our area so unique! Aboard a boat, you have a unique view of the Whalehead Club and Currituck Beach Lighthouse from the water. Next, you can travel to Monkey Island to see nesting wading birds and the ruins of the old Monkey Island Hunt Club. If you’d like to stay out longer, we can always find more things to do on the Currituck Sound!
